The Events Assistant Position has the overall responsibility of providing support and assistance in the planning and execution of Wausau Event’s community events. The Events Assistant works directly under the direction of the Executive Director as a team member representing Wausau Events and will participate in and gain exposure to event planning and non-profit management, including in the areas of event promotion, vendor management, volunteer recruitment, community engagement, and day-of event operations. This position includes many opportunities for resume development and professional growth, as well as community involvement. This position qualifies for and meets paid college internship and reporting requirements.
In-person attendance is required during the summer event season with task-based, remote asynchronous work given during the fall, winter, and spring. The hours for this position vary weekly up to 40 hours throughout June, July, and August, and up to 5 hours a week during all other months of the year. This position offers flexible scheduling, with the exception of event days; the Events Assistant is required to be present for all posted summer event dates.
