About Us

23Wausau Events is dedicated to producing high quality, affordable events for the community. We deliver diverse programs and experiences designed to enhance the quality of life for residents while attracting visitors to the area. As a non-profit organization, we build and sustain relationships with local businesses, organizations and volunteers to ensure our year-round events are fun, build community, and reach a large and diverse audience. 

We partner with other nonprofits to have them volunteer for our events and we, in turn, provide them money to help sustain their mission. In 2023 we helped different nonprofit entities who helped us. We gave back to the community over $20,000 in 2023.

We have a 15 member Board of Directors and 6 committees that keep the organization and the events ever changing, yet sustainable.

Executive Staff + Board Members

Alissandra Aderholdt | Executive Director

Wausau Events is run by our Executive Director with the assistance of our Board of Directors. Alissandra Aderholdt is in her fourth year at Wausau Events, heading into her fifth event season. She has previously held positions at the American Cancer Society and local hotels as an Event Coordinator. She is a DC Everest graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from UWGB. In her free time, she can be found snuggling her daughter and cats, or playing games with family and friends.

BROOKLYN HESS | ASSISTANT

Brooklyn Hess is part of the Wausau Events team as a year-round staff member, focused on volunteer engagement & event assistance. She’s currently attending UW-Milwaukee during the school year and spends her summers with Wausau Events.

JOIN OUR TEAM - SUMMER EVENTS INTERN

We’re hiring for a Summer Events Intern to join our team for the 2025 summer season! This person will be responsible for the Concerts on the Square Series, while also assisting with many of our other events throughout the summer. This position is part-time, but additional hours are available and often required during event weeks.
